About IIP Scotland
The Board
As an employer lead organisation, our Board is made up of our member organisations, together with representatives from employers who are either Investors in People recognised or actively working towards this.
Our Board members are passionate about Investors in People and the benefits it can provide to any organisation.
They provide valuable experience and knowledge that allow them to give strategic input into the direction of our organisation whilst reviewing our performance. They also give up their time voluntarily to do so.
Our Board meets quarterly and is made up of the following members:
Linda Urquhart OBE (Chairman)
Chairman for Morton Fraser LLP
"Business is about people. Finding ways to encourage and harness the ideas, skills and enthusiasm of people in a business to help achieve business goals is at the heart of IIP. The IIP framework is an effective way to making this happen."
Gaynor Gilespie
HR Director, Capital and Regional
"IIP is an invaluable tool which helps business managers, in a simple and effective way, to focus on people; helping individuals to be all they can be whilst ensuring their personal contribution to the business is relevant and positive. It is also a very useful ‘map’ for the HR professional that is objective best practice."
Linda Hanna
Senior Director of Company Growth, Innovation and Commercialisation - Scottish Enterprise
"Business is about people. Finding ways to encourage and harness the ideas, skills and enthusiasm of people in a business to help achieve business goals is at the heart of IIP. The IIP framework is an effective way to making this happen."

"IIP is commitment to business through the development of people."
Peter Russian
Chief Executive, Investors in People Scotland
"It’s people. Not paper. Not process. Not pineapples. People. Investing in people. Not rocket science, though even rocket scientists won’t produce rockets without people. Simple, effective, but easier said than done. That’s why this is a purpose driven business, and that’s why it’s the best job in the world."
Charlie Stewart
Director of Company Growth, Innovation and Commercialisation - Scottish Enterprise
"To me IIP is an excellent framework to greatly assist companies in growing their business, by growing their people in line with their strategy."
Robin Stimpson
Partner, Anderson Strathern
"IIP has proved an effective tool to develop my own business and its people and I am keen to do what I can as a Board member to promote the use of IIP for the benefit of individuals and businesses throughout Scotland."
Charles Thompson
“Changing, adapting and developing are critical for any organisation to sustain growth over a long period of time. The only way to do that is through the continuous development of an organisation’s people and their skills. IIP is a key part in that process, and thus a significant tool to deliver strategic growth.”
